The river Tungnaá makes a sharp turn around Austurkrókur, Jökulgilskvísl flows through Landmannalaugar into the river Tungnaá at the turn. Lake Austur Bjallar can be seen as well as Lake Kýlingavatn. The Red colors of Norðurnámsver next to Ljótipollur are beautiful from the air.
